Job Description Primary Function of PositionIndependently follows oral and/or written instructions in performance of a wide variety of inspections and testing of complex medical instrumentation and documents findings in Quality Management System. Responsible for timely processing and dispositioning of returned instruments and accessories, including RMA’s, with a focus on instruments and accessories. Regularly use diagnostic software for localizing equipment and system problems, specialized testing equipment, analyzers, digital oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and other test equipment as required.

- Perform failure analysis of accessories by evaluating the mechanical, electrical, and physical characteristics of returned items.
- Perform disposition of excess and system trade in RMA I&A returns.
- Execute instrument repacking process, including label printing work orders.
- Document failure analysis findings in a clear and concise manner in the QMS system.
- Assist the Advanced FA team with regulatory requirements for resolving reportable I/A events and recalled instruments.
- Maintain regular communication with failure analysis engineering group and post‑market surveillance.
- Independent resolution of minor to moderate problems.
- Build important internal/external relationships through advanced communication skills, influencing and negotiating effectively.
- Verify assembly documentation accuracy, read engineering drawings, and set up equipment necessary for inspection and testing.
- Understand diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, and mechanical component drawings.
- Dispose of bio‑hazardous material as required.
- Perform purging tasks for all completed RMA’s if applicable.
- Maintain knowledge of DOPs, SOPs, and MPIs pertaining to I/A RMA operations.
- Work independently towards daily throughput targets.
- Follow all corporate, safety, SOP, DOP procedures and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Minimum high‑school diploma and AA or equivalent; college degree preferred. 1‑2 years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write and understand English and work instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Logical reasoning and ability to report actual or potential quality issues and suggest improvements.
- Proficient personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SAP ERP System, ACCS (Agile) quality system.
- Effective communication with technical and non‑technical internal customers.
- Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- High professional integrity and ethics.
- Ability to work varying shifts and complete training courses.
