JOB SUMMARYAssists in the treatment and management of patients with clinical needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provides instruction to patients and/or caregivers on the proper use of equipment and respiratory care procedures.
- Ensures patients and/or caregivers can operate and maintain equipment, performs clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry, vital signs.
- Responsible for routine patient follow‑up contacts based on individual needs.
- May need to perform on‑call duties as needed.
- Operates respiratory care equipment including oxygen therapy, nebulization, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non‑invasive ventilation.
- Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
- Prepares and maintains records for each patient with care plans, prescriptions, and documentation.
- Accurate data entry on monitoring websites for certain respiratory equipment.
- Consults with referring physicians regarding patient treatment, condition, home environment, and Plan of Care.
- Participates in ongoing education and training sessions.
- Assists with patient scheduling as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Meets company minimum standard of background check.
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; must drive personal vehicle for patient visits.
- Registration or certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Current state RCP license if required in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- All applicable licensure in good standing.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multi‑task effectively.
- Effective communication in person, on the phone, and electronically.
- Completion of Apria’s respiratory therapy orientation and competency evaluation program.
- Use of electronic handheld device.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Basic printing/faxing/scanning.
- English (reading, writing, verbal). Bilingual preferred.
- At least one year related experience.
Physical demands include manual handling up to 50 lbs, use of personal vehicle, and varied exposure to environmental conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
