Software Engineer

Help us reimagine how millions of people interact with technology as our newest Software Engineer in Pearl City, HI. You won't find a tighter fit if you've got 1 years, want $74,000 - $120,000, and crave a technology team that lets you lead.

• Ship the joyfully-rigorous Communication features that move Target's technology roadmap forward
• Profile Selenium memory use and chase down the leaks crashing Pearl City nodes
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs powering core Target products
• Ship Unit Testing experiments fast, kill the losers, and double down on what sticks
• Refactor the technology module Target has been afraid to touch
• Drive adoption of best practices in testing, security, and observability

• 1+ years building trust the slow, unglamorous way
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
• Real proficiency with People Management, plus willingness to learn Selenium fast
• An unhurried bias toward action, balanced by knowing when to wait

Target makes Communication look simple, which anyone in technology knows is the bias-to-action hardest thing to pull off. We build psychological safety the boring way: by actually following through on what we say.

For this Software Engineer role we offer $74,000 - $120,000, a mentor who has walked the path, and benefits designed for life outside Target.

We are actively sourcing safety-first professionals for this junior role right now.

If Target keeps showing up in your search, take the hint and finally apply.
