Treatment Plant Operator II – Surface Water

We are hiring a full‑time Treatment Plant Operator II – Surface Water to support the City of Pearland’s Utilities Department. The role involves leading SWTP Operator I staff, monitoring pump stations, adjusting chemical feeds, ensuring compliance reporting, and coordinating budget needs.

• Serve as a team leader for SWTP Operator I staff and provide instruction.
• Monitor pump stations, chemical feed systems, and primary process areas.
• Calibrate continuous monitoring instruments for compliance reporting.
• Adjust chemical metering pumps and determine process chemical dosages.
• Implement corrective procedures for water quality and follow up on outcomes.
• Compile data for monthly reports and coordinate with PCS regarding budget needs.

• High school graduation or GED equivalent plus specialized water industry courses or training.
• Three (3) years of experience in surface water treatment plants or related field.
• Experience with membrane filters is preferred.

• Valid Texas Class C Surface Water Operator license.
• Texas Class C driver’s license.

Salary: $24.07 – $26.05 per hour (based on qualifications). Job also offers hiring incentive up to $5,000 based on license grade (Grade A: $5,000, Grade B: $3,500, Grade C: $2,500).
