The MRI Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative. The role involves performing magnetic resonance images and other radiographic imaging with basic departmental functions and goals.
What you will do in this role:- Be knowledgeable in MRI screening and safety, biomedical implants, cryogen safety, emergency procedures, climate control, and magnetic shielding.
- Demonstrate competency in date acquisition and processing.
- Maintain proper equipment disinfection between patients.
- Perform contrast injections correctly.
- Assess, monitor, and manage patients, including vital signs, physical signs, sedated patients, and claustrophobic patients.
- Respond to emergencies and contrast reactions, including cardiac/respiratory arrest.
- Execute pulse sequences, spin echo, conventional spin echo, fast spin echo (FSE) STIR, FLAIR, Gradient recalled echo (GRE), echo planar imaging (EPI), and other advanced techniques.
- Manipulate data, k‑space mapping, Fourier transformation, 3‑D post‑processing, maximum intensity projection (MIP), and cardiac analysis.
- Perform diffusion, perfusion, spectroscopy, and MRI imaging.
- Adopt universal precautions and other appropriate safety measures.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiological Technology or related field.
- Current ARRT(R)(MRI) or ARMRIT registry required.
- Current BCLS certification required.
- At least two years of Radiological Technology experience in this field.
