Treatment Plant Operator II

Earn up to $5,000 in hiring incentives based on your license grade:

  • Grade C License – $2,500
  • Grade B License – $3,500
  • Grade A License – $5,000

Hourly wage: $24.07 - $26.05 (based on experience and qualifications). Certification pay is available for licenses higher than required.

Essential

Functions
  • Perform daily plant checks of mechanical, chemical, and electrical equipment.
  • Run daily process control sample testing on‑site according to plant permit requirements; check lab results and make corrections.
  • Turn on, monitor, and adjust equipment throughout the day to maintain solids removal per process procedures.
  • Perform plant maintenance and repair any equipment that requires replacement.
  • Read operator’s process control reports, logbooks and lab sampling results.
  • Troubleshoot and fix problems at the wastewater facility.
  • Participate in plant inspections by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Requirements
  • High school graduation or GED equivalent plus specialized courses/training equivalent to one year of college chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
  • Four (4) years of wastewater operations or closely related experience.
  • Wastewater Treatment Operator Class C License.
