Job Description

  • Installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Installation, service, and trouble‑shooting of automatic fire sprinkler systems and related equipment.
  • Direct and/or participate in trenching and repair of underground mains, including back filling and tamping.
  • Accurately complete, execute, and process paperwork (electronic or paperless) required by office and corporate management systems.
  • Ensure all equipment, including specialty valves and fire pumps, are installed in strict compliance with manufacturers’ requirements.
  • Conduct/coordinate necessary testing of the system and ensure required certifications are complete.
  • Maintain open communication with the customer and provide information as required.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

  • Safety first: ensure timely and complete submission of JSAs, toolbox talks, audit forms, etc.
  • Ensure timely and accurate incident and accident reporting.
  • Hold yourself accountable for safety initiatives, safe driving of company vehicles, and stop‑work authority.
  • Complete all training requirements – safety, certifications, etc.
  • Maintain proper maintenance and care of equipment – trucks, lifts, tools, etc.
  • Keep job sites clean and organized.
  • Ensure production efficiency by tracking budget vs. actual labor hours and communicating proactively with the superintendent.
  • Support and ensure adherence to company SOPs – purchase orders, change orders, etc.
  • Demonstrate timeliness: be at the job on time, maintain attendance, communicate with supervisors, and complete paperwork.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and respond to survey feedback for improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain quality control to reduce return trips and warranty work.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and effective communication within the department and with customers.
  • Show teamwork: maintain positive interactions within your team and location.
  • Actively participate in required team meetings.
  • Ability to work overtime, out of town, or on‑call as needed.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of fire sprinkler piping systems, including fabrication, materials, and joining methods.
  • Understanding of fire protection installation requirements.
  • Ability to read fire protection blueprints.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • American Fire Sprinkler Association training program for foreman preferred.
  • Certified state/federally accredited foreman preferred.
  • State backflow testing and repair certification preferred.
  • Forklift and scissor lift certification preferred.
  • Nicet II & III certification preferred.
  • Understanding of NFPA codes and standards.
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a fire sprinkler helper (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a fire sprinkler apprentice/fitter (preferred).
Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to take direction from upper management.
  • Accurately complete and maintain all paperwork.
  • Maintain vehicle and tools per company policy.
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Self‑motivated, ambitious, interactive, communicative, detail‑oriented, and organized.
  • Knowledgeable with NFPA 13 rules and related codes.
  • Professional and positive communication with other trades, customers, project managers, county officials, general contractors, etc.
  • Demonstrate positive teamwork and ability to lead/mentor.
  • Comply with all company safety practices and handbook.
  • Complete projects timely while delivering high-quality work and customer satisfaction.
