Long Term Futures are currently working with several vibrant and inclusive primary schools across the Borough of Southwark that are seeking dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistants.
These schools are known for their community-driven atmosphere and are easily accessible via major transport hubs like Elephant & Castle, Canada Water, and Peckham Rye. Responsibilities
Academic Support:
Working closely with the Class Teacher to deliver tailored literacy and numeracy interventions for Year 3 to Year 6 pupils.
Small Group Work:
Leading focused groups to help bridge learning gaps and boost confidence ahead of SATs.
Classroom Management:
Assisting in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
Resource Preparation:
Creating engaging learning materials and maintaining vibrant classroom displays.
Safeguarding:
Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students at all times, including during break and lunch duties.
Essential Candidate Requirements
Previous experience working within a UK primary school setting (specifically Key Stage 2 is highly desirable).
A strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and a high level of literacy and numeracy.
The ability to build strong, professional relationships with both students and staff.
A proactive, "can-do" attitude and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the classroom.
High standards of written and spoken English.
