Contractor Structural Draughtsperson (Inventor)

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Structural Draughtsperson to join a specialist engineering organisation delivering projects within the offshore oil and gas sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a contractor looking to work on technically challenging structural design projects within a highly regarded engineering environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in producing high-quality structural drawings and models using Autodesk Inventor, supporting engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
This is an initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension. The position operates outside IR35, making it suitable for Limited Company contractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed structural fabrication and assembly drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
* Develop and maintain 3D models for offshore oil and gas structures and related equipment.
* Generate manufacturing drawings, GA drawings and detailed structural documentation.
* Work closely with structural engineers and project teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
* Ensure drawings comply with relevant industry standards, specifications and client requirements.
* Support design reviews and incorporate engineering comments and design changes as required.
* Manage and maintain drawing records and documentation throughout project delivery.
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a Structural Draughting or Structural Design role.
* Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
* Previous experience working within the offshore oil and gas, marine, energy, offshore renewables or heavy engineering sectors.
* Ability to interpret engineering calculations and technical specifications.
* Experience producing detailed fabrication and manufacturing drawings.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Contract Details
* Initial 6-month contract with potential for further extensions.
* Outside IR35 engagement.
* Suitable for Limited Company contractors.
* Hybrid working arrangement with 2 days per week in the Central London office and the remainder working remotely.
* Full-time contract hours.
