Service based in Camberwell (Queens Road Packham is a 23 minute walk or a 13 minute ride on the 36, 136, 171 and 436 and Elephant and Castle station is a 8 minute ride on the 343). Please be kindly aware there is no step free access at this location and some of our other sites.

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 per week, Monday to Sunday on a rota which may include 07:30 - 15:30 or 14:00. You may be required to work flexibly outside these hours as per service requirements, such as with evenings, weekends, and bank holidays including festive breaks.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Worker to join our team which supports adult male residents living with mental health conditions, often alongside drug or alcohol dependences, within a residential two year supported living environment. Within the service, you will provide person-centred, flexible support to help residents achieve their goals, maintain stability, and reduce hospital admissions. You will play a key role in residents’ rehabilitation and reintegration into the community by delivering tailored interventions and working closely with internal teams, partners and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

* Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and participants at all times

* Focusing on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals

* Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities

* Building trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins

* Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for night colleagues for a seamless service

About You

We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for supporting people who face challenges with their mental health and substance dependency. You will be able to build trust and positive relationships in a professional setting, working towards meaningful and lasting outcomes. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach, recognising that each person’s needs are unique and require different levels of support.

With an understanding of how to help individuals overcome personal barriers, you will be motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. This is a rewarding role for someone who truly wants to make a difference in people’s lives.

You will have:

* Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector, particularly mental health and substance dependency

* Ability to show empathy and compassion to our residents, and different challenges they face

* Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs

* Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

* Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders

* Understanding of the different needs people with multiple and complex needs have and be aware of the social marginalisation that can be attached to people who face personal challenges
