Branta Recruitment are seeking an Interim Head of Estates for an immediate contract opportunity for a within the further education sector in South East London

The ideal applicant will bring a depth of estates technical knowledge in M&E facilities management and a good understanding of budget management

An education institution is seeking a Head of Estates to drive the development and delivery of the Estates strategic plan. This integral role requires a proactive manager and strong leader with a proven track record in leading change and performance improvement across complex estates operations.

The Role:

* Lead and manage the Estates Services Team, fostering a "customer first" ethos.

* Oversee all property development, facilities maintenance, and Health & Safety across the estate.

* Ensure the provision of cost-effective, high-quality services (maintenance, cleaning, security, etc.).

* Manage and monitor contracted-out services and complex capital projects.

* Maintain rigorous financial management of revenue and capital budgets.

* Proactively promote sustainability and energy-saving technologies.

* Act as the primary liaison between the college's senior leadership teams and the central Estates Professional Services Team.

Candidate Profile:

* Significant experience operating at a senior management and strategic level within a large, complex organisation.

* Possession of a recognised Estates management or FM-related vocational qualification (or significant relevant experience).

* Substantial experience in managing, assessing, and setting budgets.

* Proven record of significant project and change management.

* A highly competent team leader and efficient decision-maker with excellent communication skills.

* Strong knowledge of current relevant legislation, including Health and Safety.

* A dynamic, proactive "can do" attitude, able to inspire enthusiasm and work effectively under pressure.
