SW Locums is recruiting an experienced Senior Children’s Social Worker / Specialist Social Worker to join Southwark Council’s Assessment and Intervention Service at Sumner House.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner to undertake meaningful statutory work and make a real difference to children and families.
Role Details
* Position:
Senior Children’s Social Worker / Specialist Social Worker
* Location:
Southwark, London – Sumner House
* Pay: £39.04 per hour
* Contract:
Full-time Locum
* Start: ASAP
* Working Pattern:
Hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in the office
* Duty:
Assessment Team rota approximately every 5 weeks
The Role
Working as part of the Assessment Team, you will play a key role in assessing risk, safeguarding children and helping families achieve positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Undertaking assessments of children and families.
* Completing home visits and direct work with children.
* Conducting Section 47 enquiries.
* Completing risk assessments and safety planning.
* Working collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners.
* Making sound professional decisions focused on children’s safety and wellbeing.
* Maintaining high-quality case records and meeting statutory requirements.
What We’re Looking For
* At least 5 years’ post-qualified experience.
* Completed ASYE.
* At least 3 years’ experience in a permanent Social Worker role.
* Previous experience within a Children’s Assessment Team.
* Strong experience in assessment, safeguarding, risk assessment and direct work with children.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced statutory environment.
