We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Carpenter to join our construction team. The Industrial Carpenter is responsible for building, assembling, and installing wooden, metal, and concrete structures used in heavy industrial projects. This includes formwork, foundations, platforms, and other structural components that support piping, equipment, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working in industrial construction environments such as refineries, petrochemical plants, or manufacturing facilities and demonstrates strong technical skill, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality.

Qualification

Standards:
  • Education:
  • Completion of an accredited carpentry apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3–5 years of industrial construction experience as a Carpenter.
  • Proven experience constructing and setting forms for concrete foundations, slabs, walls, and structural supports.
  • Experience working in heavy industrial, petrochemical, or refinery environments preferred.
  • Technical

    Skills:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Skilled in layout, measurement, and alignment for concrete and structural installations.
  • Experienced in building, erecting, and stripping formwork using wood, steel, or prefabricated systems.
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Knowledge of rigging, shoring, bracing, and proper material handling procedures.
  • Ability to perform precise work in elevated or confined spaces as required by the project.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
  • NCCER Industrial Carpenter certification or equivalent.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification.
  • Basic rigging, scaffold building, or aerial lift certification preferred.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors and in various industrial environments under changing conditions.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Dependable, safety-minded, and quality-driven.
  • Must be able to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work at heights when required.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance Operations
    • Direct and coordinate daily maintenance work activities to ensure efficient execution of work orders, repairs, and inspections.
    • Support the Maintenance Superintendent in developing and executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
    • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials for maintenance activities.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical issues.
  • Construction & Fabrication:
  • Build, assemble, and install formwork, framing, supports, and other temporary or permanent structures for industrial projects.
  • Layout and construct concrete forms for foundations, slabs, walls, and equipment pads according to specifications.
  • Erect, align, and secure structures using proper materials and techniques to ensure quality and safety compliance.
  • Cut, shape, and fit materials using saws, drills, and precision measuring tools.
  • Perform rough and finish carpentry work as required to meet project scope.
  • Blueprint & Layout Work:
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and project drawings to determine layout, material requirements, and dimensions.
  • Accurately measure, mark, and align formwork and structural components for correct elevation and positioning.
  • Verify conformance of completed work to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Follow all OSHA, site, and company safety requirements at all times.
  • Inspect tools, materials, and work areas to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Participate in job safety analyses (JSAs), safety meetings, and toolbox talks.
  • Report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents immediately to supervision.
  • Work closely with Foremen, Ironworkers, Concrete Finishers, and other craft disciplines to meet construction goals.
  • Support concrete pours, equipment setting, and other construction phases as needed.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Quality & Continuous Improvement:
  • Ensure all work meets project specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, safety, and work processes.
  • Take initiative to enhance skills and knowledge through ongoing training and experience.
