General Purpose
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for operating sanitation routines picking up waste and illegal dumping around the city promoting a safety conscious attitude with fellow employees and citizens. The job content can involve spraying herbicides and insecticides, picking up litter, brush and weed cutting, general clean up driving to various work sites; and performing related duties as required.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDuties may include but are not limited to the following tasks:
General site cleanup/picking up litter. Maintains the city right-of-way by removing litter and illegally dumped items. Regularly monitors areas known for illegal dumping. Delivers dumpsters to assigned locations. Participates in special events and projects as and when needed. Provide information and directions to the public regarding proper dumping and restricted hazardous materials. Provides customer service to the public by providing information as requested.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- An ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth promotes the Company's safety standards; works with a sense of honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness.
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor which involves frequent bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying. Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise.
- Ability to and willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge in ground maintenance, hand tools and related equipment.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment safety practices.
- Experience operating equipment is a plus.
Must hold and maintain a valid Texas State Driver's license or obtain one within six months of hire.
Tools & Equipment UsedWeed eater, lawn mower, yard tools, skid steer loader, chain saw, UTV skid sprayer.
Work Environment & Physical DemandsWork involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
