Personal Assistant – Eddleston nr 2127

A very lovely lady, living at home with her husband and little dog on the outskirts of Eddleston, is looking for a Personal Assistant to offer her some daily, morning support. The role would involve supporting the lady each day with her morning routine which includes a shower and getting dressed. The lady likes to be as independent as possible and uses a Zimmer to get around and to steady herself in the shower but does require some assistance with hair washing and lower leg/feet washing as mobility is limited.

As this role is based on the outskirts of Eddleston it would ideally suit a driver or someone who doesn't rely on public transport. The role could happily be split between a couple of PA's as support is required each day of the week so applications are invited from all that are able to cover even a couple of days a week.

30 minutes travel, per visit, will be paid.

Terms:

• Hours per week:
  Up to 7 hours with 30 minutes travel per day allowed.
• Hours of work:
  Daily for an hour between am preferably.
• £14.45 per hour.
• Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Probationary period of 6 months
• Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• To support client to ensure their safety and well-being.
• To support with personal care needs including:
  • Support to shower and wash areas that the client is unable to reach themselves.
  • Support to dress as required, particularly lower legs/feet.
• To support with general care needs such as mobilising around house to and from shower.
• To support to maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client's equipment and surroundings as using to ensure safety.
• To develop a positive relationship with the client and her family.
• To work as part of a team to cover daily shifts.
