We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager to join a growing food manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who is passionate about food safety, product quality, and continuous improvement, and who enjoys leading teams within a fast-paced production environment.
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality, food safety, legality, and customer requirements while driving a strong quality culture across the site.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems.
- Ensure products consistently meet customer specifications, legal requirements, and food safety standards.
- Manage non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and trend quality performance through audits, customer complaints, microbiological results, and internal quality metrics.
- Promote and drive a positive food safety and quality culture throughout the business.
- Maintain and develop HACCP systems, identifying risks and implementing effective controls.
- Provide technical support for new product development projects and product launches.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and technical KPI performance.
- Support customer audits, third-party audits, and internal audit programmes.
- Work closely with production, operations, and technical teams to improve standards and performance.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a Quality Manager, Technical Manager, QA Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Experience with in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety management systems.
- Internal auditing experience and a thorough understanding of audit requirements.
- Experience investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Food Science, Food Technology, or related qualification.
- HACCP Level 3 or higher.
- Experience working with BRCGS standards.
- Experience with in chilled, fresh, or short shelf-life food manufacturing.
- Exposure to retailer and customer audits.
