Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will be a key part of the manufacturing process, helping to maintain and repair all plant mechanical, electrical, and mobile equipment, while notifying the management team of necessary supplies. Primary Responsibilities
  • Repairs and maintains all machinery, including mechanical and/or electrical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, elevators, electro‑mechanical control systems, power equipment, safety devices, and other specialized equipment (including mobile equipment).
  • Evaluates work processes and informs management of any problems or potential problems with equipment, including identifying the need for parts and supplies.
  • Researches necessary parts and supply options for plant management, communicating appropriately.
  • Partners with the production team to maintain appropriate knowledge regarding equipment performance.
  • Completes necessary paperwork and maintains related paperwork as directed by management daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly.
  • Responsible for welding and cutting steel if part of a required task.
  • Will need to troubleshoot electrical challenges, including electrical component repair skills and wiring of motors.
  • Will work within the site to replace buckets, change, track, and splice belts (both new and replacement), and change drive parts including bearings, reducers, pulleys, and motors.
  • May need to assist in production‑related duties when necessary and as assigned.
  • Other duties may be assigned in order to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years' experience in industrial maintenance with proven experience in material handling systems.
  • Experience with high voltage (480v) and three‑phase motors.
  • Must be able to pass the company physical, drug & alcohol screening, and background check.
  • Physical Requirement include:
    • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs
    • Twist / bend / stand for long durations
    • Frequent walking as you change positions and locations
    • Working at heights will vary
    • Ability to work in uneven terrain with exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Should be proficient in welding and cutting steel, specifically able to fabricate replacement parts, hard surfacing front‑end loader buckets, and tack welding of chutes and duct work.
  • Should have experience working with and troubleshooting fuel burners for dryers.
  • General troubleshooting and servicing of equipment, including changing oil and performing manufacturers recommended services and minor repairs.
  • Must be able to read schematics
  • An understanding of PLC's is preferred.
