Job OverviewThe Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience by meticulously assessing and repairing each vehicle to its pre‑accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles while maintaining the company’s focus on speed, quality, and customer excellence. The role supports the facility’s KPIs and serves as a brand ambassador for The Boyd Group.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates for customers using tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
- Remove dents, dimples, and minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when other methods are not feasible.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.
- Repair interior parts as required.
- Weld and attach parts, prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified or equivalent paint.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines; verify work by inspecting vehicles after repair.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with other repairers in an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
- Proficient use of trade tools.
- Must work safely in a noisy area with odors.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in varied weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat during repairs and inspections.

$22–$28 per hour (flat rate) tied to turned hours. Compensation is commensurate with skill, education, and experience. Eligible for bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
