Position Overview
A leading manufacturer is seeking a Launch / Project Engineer to ensure the plant is fully prepared for new product launches, process updates, and mid-cycle enhancements. This role serves as the bridge between the corporate project team and the plant operations team, coordinating detailed implementation plans to meet project timing, cost, and customer quality expectations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and execute launch and transfer activities to ensure plant readiness for new products and process updates.
- Track project progress using launch checklists, schedules, and internal tracking systems (Excel, SAP, etc.) to ensure all milestones are met.
- Lead cross‑functional readiness reviews, maintaining alignment between engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes and equipment meet design intent, company standards, and customer requirements.
- Conduct and review MSA studies, process capability analyses, and performance validations.
- Manage and facilitate engineering and process changes from development through full implementation.
- Oversee equipment and tooling readiness, ensuring production systems are capable of achieving quoted volumes and quality expectations.
- Coordinate multiple simultaneous launches or transfers while maintaining clear communication and progress tracking.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process reliability, efficiency, and quality performance.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred. 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing.
Technical & Professional
Skills:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling design.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, and launch readiness procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP (or equivalent ERP system).
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Capable of working cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams.
