Provides computed tomography imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Responsibilities- Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes.
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
- Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures. Troubleshoots and reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Positions patient and performs imaging procedures. Analyzes images and identifies issues with image quality. Takes action to resolve issues, including repositioning and repeating procedures if clinically appropriate.

Education And Certification Requirements- Accredited Program:
Radiology (Required) - ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- BLS Certification - American Heart Association
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) - State of Florida
Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision. No previous CT experience required; 1 year of radiology technologist experience preferred. Must be registered as a Technologist (RT) by ARRT and in CT by ARRT within 1 year of hire. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
