API Test Engineer

Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL | Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite per Week

Inte Pros is seeking an experienced API Test Engineer to join a high-visibility technology initiative supporting a complex, data-driven platform. This role will focus on ensuring the quality and reliability of APIs, system integrations, and end-to-end data workflows through both manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on API testing, Python automation, and SQL experience and is comfortable tracing data across multiple integrated systems.

What You’ll Do

• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and performance testing for APIs and system integrations.
• Perform positive, negative, boundary, and error-handling testing for REST APIs.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts with a strong focus on Python-based automation.
• Test end-to-end workflows involving APIs, SFTP file transfers, databases, and system-generated outputs.
• Validate JSON request/response payloads, HTTP headers, methods, and status codes.
• Use SQL to validate database updates, data accuracy, and processing results.
• Trace data across multiple systems to identify integration or processing issues.
• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and communicate defects while partnering closely with development teams.
• Help expand test automation coverage and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of software quality engineering or testing experience; strong candidates with 3–4 years may also be considered.
• Strong hands-on experience with API testing and application integrations.
• Ability to independently create, execute, and maintain test cases.
• Proficiency with Python scripting and test automation.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and database validation.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE), and status codes.
• Experience validating complex end-to-end data processing workflows.

Nice to Have

• Experience building or maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Exposure to CI/CD environments and automated testing pipelines.
• Experience with performance and load testing.
