Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00am - 6:00pm Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm
Civil Charge Hand (Ganger) - National Grid ProjectWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Civil Charge Hand (Ganger) to join a major National Grid infrastructure project in Pembroke
. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled civil supervisor with experience working on HV substations and utility infrastructure
. You will lead a small gang carrying out a variety of civil engineering activities while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience within the utilities or power sector, and the relevant National Grid and HSG
47 accreditations.
- Supervise and coordinate a civil gang undertaking daily site activities.
- Carry out installations of:
- Surface water drainage
- Foul water drainage
- Oily water drainage
- LV ducting and draw pits
- HV ducting
- LV and HV precast troughing
- Oversee excavation works and installation of blinding and concrete foundations.
- Manage excavation reinstatement, including back filling and compaction.
- Undertake safe digging activities in accordance with HSG
47 guidance. - Marshal vehicles and safely bank excavators and site plant.
- Operate site plant, including forward tipping dumpers and ride-on rollers where required.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with project safety, quality and environmental procedures.
- Monitor productivity and ensure programme targets are achieved.
- Support groundworks activities as required.
- National Grid Person accreditation.
- EUSR Card
. - HSG
47 (2-Day) - HV Substations certification. - Manual Handling certification.
- Proven experience working on National Grid or HV Substation projects.
- Previous experience leading civil engineering gangs.
- Strong understanding of safe excavation practices and underground service avoidance.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- NPORS or CPCS Forward Tipping Dumper
. - NPORS or CPCS Ride-on Roller
. - Additional plant operation experience.
- Groundworks experience within utilities or power infrastructure.
- 28.00 per hour
. - 12-week contract.
- Long working hours available.
- Opportunity to work on a major National Grid infrastructure project.
- Immediate start available.
Candidates will only be considered if they meet the essential criteria and hold the required certifications. All applicants must have:
- National Grid Person accreditation.
- EUSR Card.
- HSG
47 (2-Day) - HV Substations certification. - Manual Handling certification.
- Full PPE before attending site.
