We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, focusing on preventive health and the management of chronic conditions. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, public health, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Main

duties of the job

Duties to include but not limited to,

Conduct thorough patient assessments and examinations to diagnose medical conditions.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Willingness to work in a supportive, innovative environment.

Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.

Provide ongoing management of chronic illnesses and preventive care services.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team, intermediate care and home care provider to ensure continuity of care.

Engage in clinical research initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes.

Educate patients and their families about health maintenance and disease prevention strategies.

Utilise medical imaging techniques as necessary for accurate diagnosis.

Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Use of EMIS computer software.

About us

We are a large GP Practice of 22600 patients in rural west wales which has adapted with a multidisciplinary team of GPs, Pharmacists, ANPs, NPs, Chronic Disease PNs, PNs, HCA/Phlebotomists. We have two GP trainees within the Practice and support GP training for both Swansea and Cardiff students and also PAs on a regular basis. Argyle has a higher than average disease prevalence for chronic disease with social deprivation, with mental health and drug dependence all being definite factors our specially run Chronic Disease clinics are highly effective in the treatment of these patients.

As a member of the South Pembrokeshire Cluster we continue to use the skills of our OT and also the physiotherapist. We also use the facility of our youth Worker and ICT team referring vulnerable/housebound patients through the MDT. We aim to work closely with our local community and are a Practice holding a Silver award for our Carers we have also liaised closely with our local schools delivering educational sessions to the children.

Whilst we are undoubtedly a very busy Practice because of our patient list size we have a very supportive team and a great social committee.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • A valid license to practice in the UK as a GP
  • Strong knowledge of the NHS.
  • Experience in senior care, home care, or nursing home settings is advantageous.
  • Proficient in medication administration and familiar with clinical research methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues alike.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a compassionate manner.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required by the needs of the practice.

Experience
  • Working in General Practice: 1 year
  • Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner
  • Strong knowledge of the NHS.
