Cover Supervisor

Overview

Vision for Education are recruiting Classroom Cover Supervisors to work in Pembroke and the surrounding area on a long‑term, day‑to‑day basis. The ability to speak Welsh would be an advantage, although it is not essential.

• Lead lessons for approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher.
• Cover classes across the full range of secondary school subjects without being a specialist in each area.
• Follow the lesson plan provided in advance and facilitate the class’s learning.
• Manage classroom behaviour and record accurate registers.
• Provide a handover to the absent teacher.
• Remain adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident and organised, demonstrating a passion for education and supporting young people.

• Gain experience working within a secondary school, useful for applying to Initial Teacher Training.
• Welsh language skills are an advantage but not essential.
• Offer of a comprehensive Cover Supervisor Training Programme for those new to the role.
• Opportunity to develop key teaching and classroom management skills.
