Overview
Reporting to:
The Direct Payments Recipient (the employer). Pembrokeshire County Council supports them in fulfilling employer responsibilities.
A Direct Payments client in Pembrokeshire is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support them in accessing and engaging with their community.
This role is funded through the Direct Payments scheme, which enables the client to manage their support and meet their care needs independently.
Responsibilities- Enabling the employer to interact socially within their community.
- Providing social stimulation and facilitating community engagement, such as taking the employer to local resources.
- Delivering companionship in the employer’s home, engaging in conversation and offering social interaction.
- Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during working hours.
- Carrying out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer.
- Being mindful of safeguarding issues and reporting any concerns to the relevant authority.
- Contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority when medical assistance is required by the employer.
- Caring and patient.
- Responsible and honest.
- Proactive and self‑motivated.
- Good knowledge of the local area.
- Good timekeeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties.
- Able to develop a supportive and consistent relationship.
A full, clean driving licence is required, along with a vehicle that is covered for business use under vehicle insurance.
Benefits5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro‑rata).
Sick pay at SSP rate.
Training is provided if required.
