This is a full-time role for a Commercial Manager based on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project. The Commercial Manager will oversee the projects overall costs, contracts and subcontractors ensuring full compliance with the project contract.

Your new position will involve:
  • Contract Administration – understanding the form of contract and the key provisions contained within, and advising the other team members of the scope and any special contractual requirements of the project;
  • Payment Applications – establishing the basic billing practice, ensuring the timely preparation of applications for payment and monitoring entitlement, and expediting receipt of payments;
  • Notices – submission of contractual notices (Early Warnings, delays, change etc.);
  • Change – identification of change (Variations, Compensation Events, claims etc.) and ensuring notifications within time limits. Preparation of cost and/or programme impacts associated with such change, and liaising with the planning team as required. Negotiating with the client in relation to such change, where applicable. Approves of change and obtaining approval of the necessary department managers through the assigned lead project team members and advising these personnel of budget and schedule impacts;
  • Budgeting – review of tender allowances and subsequent base‑lining of the budget. Management of the budget to reflect any change, and identification of areas of over & under recovery. Validate quantities of tender estimate, preparing quantities, re‑measure quantities, and ensuring alignment on final quantities and costs;
  • Cost Reporting – preparation and review of costs and accruals, and preparation of cost and sales forecasts, together with other project control reviews with the appropriate project team members. Preparation of monthly Project Review;
  • Risk – development of risk management plan, and suitable management of inherent risks. Performing periodic review and updating the risk management plan throughout project;
  • Procurement – provide procurement support, including generating requisitions for requested purchases, and reviewing requisitions to ensure alignment with budgets. Coordinate and control the ordering of plant & equipment;
  • Communication – maintaining positive communications with client and project team, ensuring resolution of problems as they arise with a view to securing suitable solutions.
  • Meetings – facilitate commercial meetings to review project status with client, other contracts/subcontractors, and facilitate any ad hoc commercial meetings as required;
  • Subcontracts – assisting the Project Manager in determining the subcontract scope. Tendering the subcontract scope packages in accordance with company procedures and established practices. Participating in subcontract negotiations and approval of awards;
  • Assist the Project Manager and/or other departments as required;
  • Prepare and produce reports and information as requested by the Commercial Manager / Director.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
  • Commercial Management and Contract Management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience in business planning and market analysis.
  • Effective team management skills and ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Must hold a Valid CCNSG safety passport or HS&E test (Or be willing to complete prior to induction)
Project Specifics

The position will be based onsite, starting ASAP through until approx mid 2028.

This role will report into the Project Director and sits within the Project Controls function overseen by the Commercial Director.

Working Hours: Working 10 days on 4 days off 10 hours per day (Working hours may change to suit the needs of the project).

Duration: ASAP for through until mid 2028.

Rate of Pay: Depending on experience, this will be discussed with each applicant. (PAYE or Other pay options can be discussed)

Allowances: Accommodation Allowance is payable per night worked for any candidates that live over 40 miles from site. Travel Time and Rail Fare payment is also payable once per month during the designated site long weekend. (This allowance is only available on a PAYE basis)

Must be eligible to work in the U.K and subject to acceptance/ approval of the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) Application and DBS Security Clearance (Disclosure & Barring Service Check).
