Position: Heavy Truck Driver (012026)

HEAVY TRUCK DRIVER

The Heavy Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting and delivering merchandise to The Market Place Ltd. store locations and collecting products from local suppliers. The role also includes assisting in the warehouse when needed to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On occasion, overtime or Saturday work may be required depending on business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a heavy truck in compliance with the Bermuda Road Traffic Act and company driving policies.
  • Load, transport, and unload merchandise at store locations and supplier facilities.
  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are accompanied by proper documentation.
  • Take full accountability for merchandise carried on the vehicle, including items signed for.
  • Conduct daily vehicle maintenance checks, including fuel, oil, brakes, steering, battery, and lights.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle at all times.
  • Adhere strictly to the No Riders policy.
  • Assist in the warehouse as needed, including unloading containers, organizing stock, and preparing orders for delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Education, Experience, and Skills
  • Must possess a valid Heavy Truck Driver’s License.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving heavy trucks (preferably in a commercial or retail environment).
  • Strong knowledge of Bermuda’s roads and traffic regulations.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
  • Physically capable of loading and unloading merchandise.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
Schedule
  • Full-time:
    Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Overtime and Saturday work may be required depending on workload.

The successful applicant must complete all required training and demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
