We are hiring a Per Diem Occupational Therapist to join the Activities Therapy Department at a 120‑bed inpatient behavioral health facility located in Pembroke, MA.

• Develop, organize, and facilitate occupational, activity, and skill development groups for assigned patient populations.
• Ensure groups are age appropriate and consistent with level of growth, development and functioning.
• Conduct all assigned occupational and therapeutic activity groups.
• Utilize the screening process to determine each patient’s general level of functioning in the areas of self‑management, work/education, and social functioning.
• Document patient assessments, group notes, and narrative notes using chart and/or electronic medium.
• Assist in providing a therapeutic milieu for patient programming.
• Adapt group protocol to engage all participants regardless of individual functional capacity.
• Identify short‑term goals and monitor progress toward identified long‑term goals on the treatment plan.
• Identify interventions for each objective incorporating patient strengths.
• Proactively communicate with the treatment team regarding patient progress, areas of concern, and potential risks involving patient behavior.
• Maintain attendance and progress notes for periodic review.
• Enhance existing programs using creative problem solving for the benefit of patient care.

• Education:
  
  Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Experience:
  
  Prior OT experience in a psychiatric/behavioral health setting is strongly preferred.
• Certification: CPR certification and Handle with Care competency are required upon hire.
