Recycling Ambassador (3-Month Contract) Join Singapore’s Green Movement

Are you outgoing, approachable, and passionate about sustainability? Join us as a Recycling Ambassador and be part of Singapore’s growing environmental movement through the Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS).

This is a meaningful opportunity to engage with the public, promote responsible recycling habits, and contribute towards building a cleaner and greener Singapore.

The Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS) is a nationwide initiative designed to:

• Improve recycling rates for beverage containers
• Reduce environmental waste and carbon emissions
• Encourage sustainable recycling habits among consumers
• Increase public awareness of environmental responsibility

Under the scheme, consumers pay a 10-cent refundable deposit on eligible pre-packaged beverages in plastic and metal containers (150ml to 3L). The deposit is refunded when empty containers are returned at designated collection points, including Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs).

As a Recycling Ambassador, you will be deployed at various Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) locations to support public engagement and ensure smooth day-to-day ground operations.

You will play an important role in educating residents, guiding users on the recycling process, and promoting positive environmental habits within the community.

• Educate members of the public on eligible BCRS beverage containers
• Guide residents on the proper usage of Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs)
• Promote responsible recycling practices and answer basic enquiries
• Monitor machine usage and escalate operational issues when necessary
• Maintain a friendly, approachable, and professional appearance
• Ensure the deployment area remains clean, safe, and well‑organised

• Able to commit for the full contract period:
  1 July 2026 – 30 September 2026
• Comfortable working evenings and/or weekends
• Flexible to accommodate roster and schedule adjustments
• Comfortable standing for extended periods
• Punctual, responsible, and committed to assigned duties

• Up to 5 working days per week
• Up to 40 hours per week
• Deployment roster will be provided

Candidates must be comfortable travelling between multiple deployment locations within a day.

• Friendly, confident, and comfortable interacting with the public
• Able to communicate clearly in English
• Interest in sustainability or environmental initiatives is advantageous
• Training will be provided — no prior experience required
• Open to students, fresh graduates, and candidates from all backgrounds

• Be part of a meaningful nationwide sustainability initiative
• Gain valuable experience in public engagement and communication
• Contribute directly towards environmental awareness and recycling efforts in Singapore
• Work in a dynamic and community‑focused environment
