About the role

As a key member of the team, you will work closely with Specialist SEN Teachers to support learners with a wide range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including ASD, ADHD, complex physical needs, and behavioural challenges. Your role will be central to creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where pupils can develop confidence, independence, and key life skills.

You will support small class groups of approximately 6–8 pupils, as well as provide dedicated 1:1 support for learners aged 3–19. This may include assisting with personalised learning programmes, implementing behaviour support strategies, and helping pupils engage with activities that promote emotional regulation, communication, and academic progress.

Every day will be different, and you will play a vital part in helping each learner thrive and reach their full potential.

About the School

Our SEN School provides specialist, high‑quality education for a diverse range of learners who require tailored approaches to their curriculum. The school supports pupils from primary age—where a warm, nurturing, and sensory‑aware environment is essential—through to sixth form, where learners are supported in developing independence, confidence, and the skills needed for their future pathways.

With a strong commitment to meeting each pupil’s individual needs, the school focuses on enabling learners to become confident, creative, and enterprising contributors. The school places great importance on helping every young person play an active and fulfilling role in their community and the life they choose to lead.

What we need from you
  • No previous experience working as a learning support assistant is required. (Although experience working with children with additional learning needs is preferable).
  • We are looking for individuals who have a positive attitude and a genuine passion in working with learners with ALN.
  • Being adaptable in high-pressure environments, whilst maintaining compassionate and calm is key.
  • Child and Adult Enhanced DBS on the Update service (we can help you with this!).
  • Education Workforce registration (EWC).
  • Two references available upon request.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to personal transport.

Please upload a copy of your CV to apply.

We will be in touch shortly.
