About the Role
We are recruiting a Youth Worker to be deployed at a primary school in Boon Lay. This is a part-time, school-based contract role supporting student discipline, welfare, mentoring, and character development.
The role is suitable for candidates with experience working with children, youth, or families in support, mentoring, student welfare, or community-facing settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one mentoring and befriending support to students with higher support needs, including students assigned disciplinary consequences by the school
- Plan and conduct motivational talks and group engagement sessions focused on character development and discipline-related concerns
- Assist in basic fact-finding and information-gathering activities to support the school’s student incident investigation process
- Accompany Key Personnel on after-school neighbourhood patrols when required
- Support the Discipline Master in engaging parents and guardians on student behaviour, development, and discipline matters
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with children, youth, or families in a support, mentoring, or community-facing capacity
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and engagement skills
- Comfortable working in a school environment and supporting students who may require additional guidance
- Able to communicate professionally with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and relevant stakeholders
- Able to work in Singapore in accordance with applicable employment regulations
- Prior experience planning and facilitating motivational, educational, or student engagement activities
- Background in counselling, social work, community youth work, student welfare, or related areas
- Prior experience in a school-based environment or uniformed services setting would be advantageous
- Ability to engage students and parents/guardians from diverse backgrounds effectively
Location: Primary school in Boon Lay
Contract Period: 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2027
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, part-time, approximately 30 hours per week
