About the Role

A primary school in the Bedok area is seeking a Student Management Officer to support student discipline, welfare and behavioural development.

The role involves assisting with incident investigations, supervising students, supporting appropriate interventions and maintaining accurate case records. The successful candidate will work closely with school personnel to provide a safe, structured and supportive environment for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the investigation and management of student discipline and welfare matters, including conducting fact-finding interviews and preparing the required documentation.
  • Patrol the school premises and supervise students during recess, lunch, curriculum hours and Co-Curricular Activity periods.
  • Address minor student conflicts calmly and refer more serious matters to the appropriate school personnel.
  • Supervise students serving recess suspension, out-of-classroom suspension or other corrective measures.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly and structured environment during student supervision.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records of student incidents, interventions and outcomes.
  • Provide regular case updates to the relevant school personnel.
  • Coordinate with School Leaders, the Student Development Team, Year Heads and the Discipline Committee on student-related matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • At least two years of relevant experience managing, supervising, mentoring or supporting children or youths.
  • Relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Student discipline or case management
  • Behavioural support and intervention
  • Investigations or disciplinary proceedings
  • Conflict management or mediation
  • Restorative practices
  • Able to remain calm and exercise sound judgement in challenging situations.
  • Able to adopt a firm, respectful and supportive approach when working with students.
  • Able to manage tense situations and respond appropriately to student behavioural concerns.
  • Comfortable handling confidential case documentation and coordinating with different school stakeholders.
  • Able to serve as a positive role model for students and work respectfully with students from diverse backgrounds.
Work Arrangements
  • Working Days: Monday to Friday, during school terms only
  • Working Hours: 7.15am to 2.15pm, inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break
  • No work is required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays or school holidays.
