Position: YOUTH WORKER (STUDENT MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT)

WORKING HOURS

Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 2:30pm (30 hours per week, excluding lunch break). Service not required on weekends, gazetted public holidays, and school holiday periods in March, June, September, and December.

ABOUT

THE ROLE

The Youth Worker will be deployed to support the Student Development Team (SDT) and Student Management Team (SMT) at a primary school. The role focuses on supporting the holistic development and well-being of a targeted group of students, with an emphasis on behavioural management, student supervision, and basic counselling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support SDT and SMT in student management and discipline matters, including investigation, documentation, and communication with relevant stakeholders
  • Draft and administer behavioral management documentation and forms
  • Guide and coach students serving in-house suspension or Controlled Recess Duty
  • Provide direct supervision of identified students, including classroom presence when required
  • Respond promptly to requests from teachers to support students exhibiting inappropriate behavior and escort them to calming spaces
  • Provide basic counselling support to students as directed by the school team
REQUIREMENTS
  • Higher NITEC, Diploma, or Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Youth Work, or related disciplines
  • Preferably at least 1 year of experience working directly with children or youth
  • Experience in a school setting is advantageous
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage challenging student behavior with composure and professionalism
  • Comfortable providing supervision and direct student engagement in a primary school environment
  • Candidates must hold valid work authorization in Singapore at point of application
