Job ScopeWe are looking for a driven and analytical individual to join our Power Portfolio & Strategy team. The successful candidate will support portfolio optimization, pricing analysis, and commercial decision‑making across power, gas, and renewable energy portfolios. The role focuses on analytics, reporting, deal support, and market monitoring to enable effective pricing, hedging, and sales strategies.
The role offers a rare opportunity to develop commercial acumen across the full energy value chain—combining traditional utilities, renewables, and commodity trading exposure. You will gain practical experience in:
- Structuring and pricing complex gas, power, and green energy contracts across diverse business models.
- Managing financial exposure and hedging strategies using real‑time market intelligence.
- Understanding market mechanisms and price behaviour of key indices like Dated Brent, HSFO, JKM, and FX.
- Identifying global energy and commodity market trends through both fundamental research and technical chart analysis.
- Working closely with digital, finance, and strategy to drive data‑enabled decision‑making.
- Presenting insights and strategies directly to commercial leaders and senior stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities Portfolio Strategy & Analysis
- Support integrated portfolio management of gas and power across cogen, solar and retail assets.
- Track and improve hedge positions, risk exposures, and financial contribution of contracts.
- Prepare regular portfolio performance and risk reports for management review.
- Maintain portfolio dashboards and data consistency across systems.
- Conduct in‑depth analysis on pricing, demand‑supply alignment and market movements.
- Assist in structuring and evaluating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), gas supply contracts, and Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) deals.
- Provide analytical support for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and green energy contracts.
- Support sales teams by preparing pricing models, sensitivity analysis, and deal summaries.
- Help maintain standard pricing templates and assumptions.
- Track energy market movements including power prices, gas costs, oil indices, and FX.
- Conduct competitor pricing and market trend analysis.
- Prepare daily or weekly market updates and summaries for internal stakeholders.
- Support both fundamental and basic technical market analysis.
- Maintain and enhance analytical tools using Excel and Power BI.
- Support data extraction from internal systems (e.g., Power
BI, ETRM). - Assist in automation initiatives and process improvements.
- Ensure data accuracy, documentation, and version control.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth execution of commercial initiatives.
- Support presentations and reports for senior management and external parties.
- Coordinate inputs across sales, trading, operations, and finance when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 1 – 5 years of hands‑of relevant professional experience.
- Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with advanced proficiency in Excel; VBA experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of gas or power markets is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Proactive, self‑driven individual with a growth mindset who thrives in a dynamic, fast‑paced setting.
