Finance Business Partner (Shipping or Maritime Industry)

Our client is a leading maritime organisation and is looking for a Senior Costing Analyst (OPEX Analysis | Shipping) to understand operational expenses, financial reporting, and process improvements. Candidates with FP&A experience within the maritime/oil & gas or offshore industries are welcome to apply.

• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting for OPEX and CAPEX.
• Drive process improvements and workflow efficiencies for better financial management.
• Conduct financial analysis on operating expenditures related to vessels.
• Ensure timely fund transfers to external technical managers.
• Serve as the process owner for OPEX controls, ensuring compliance with internal frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Support both internal and external audits, including SOX compliance and financial reviews.
• Oversee and monitor expenses for newbuilding projects.
• Analyze and review monthly and quarterly OPEX reports to ensure financial accuracy.
• Handle ad-hoc financial and operational projects as needed.
• Liaise with Technical Managers and Joint Venture partners on cost-related matters.
• Support the OPEX Controlling team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial oversight.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across internal departments, technical teams, external managers, and joint venture partners.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Maritime Studies.
• 5-6 years of relevant experience, ideally in vessel accounting, financial analysis, or OPEX controlling.
• Background in the maritime or shipping industry is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively across teams.
• Dynamic, adaptable, and able to think critically in a fast-paced environment.
