We are seeking a proactive and detail-focused Finance Assistant (Purchase Ledger) to join our Finance & Governance team. This key role supports day‑to‑day financial operations of the charity, ensuring supplier invoices and expenses are processed accurately and on time while maintaining strong financial controls.

Working within a small, collaborative team, you will deliver high‑quality finance services across the organisation, manage purchase ledger processes, support month‑end activities, liaise with suppliers and colleagues to resolve queries, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Process and reconcile supplier invoices and expense claims accurately and timely.
  • Support month‑end close activities, including ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice queries.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in purchase ledger processes and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity and adhere to financial control procedures.
Qualifications
  • Experience in purchase ledger or a similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and related financial controls.
  • Excellent numerical and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • High level of organisation, attention to detail and adaptability to fast‑paced environments.
  • Confident communicator, capable of building positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft 365; finance‑related qualification (or working towards one) preferred.
