Job Summary
The post holder will provide CT service comprising wholly unsupervised scanning sessions. They will be accountable for their own professional actions and expected to act as a source of expertise for external consultations by other clinicians.

- Deliver a confident, informed and compassionate clinical experience that promotes patient dignity, comfort and trust throughout the imaging process.
- Ensure accurate patient verification and data input to safeguard clinical integrity, reduce risk, and maintain reliable imaging records.
- Apply recognised manual handling techniques and appropriate clinical assistance to enable safe patient transfer, positioning and participation in imaging procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe and compliant CT environment using approved infection‑control protocols to minimise bio‑hazard risk and ensure operational readiness.
- Facilitate effective and timely communication with hospital teams, Trust representatives, radiologists and patient services to ensure continuity of care and responsive service management.
- Oversee accurate, complete and timely upload, documentation and reporting escalation to support efficient radiologist workflows and clinical decision‑making.
- Monitor scanner performance, subsystems and stock requirements to maintain operational reliability and support proactive maintenance and service continuity.
- Pursue ongoing CPD, adherence to radiographic codes of conduct and engagement with emerging CT practices to sustain fitness to practise and high professional standards.
- Support the development of radiographers and clinical colleagues to strengthen workforce capability and uphold consistent service quality.
- Adapt work patterns, clinical priorities and operational focus to meet fluctuating service demands, urgent clinical needs and organisational requirements.
- HCPC Registration
- Diploma of the Society of Radiographers or BSc equivalent
- Certificate in, and experience of, cannulation
Salary: £28,000 to £36,500 a year
