Adult Learning Disability Support Worker

Overview

Are you passionate about making a difference in peoples lives? We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our team supporting adults with learning disabilities to lead a more independent life. The service users are aged 18 and upwards with autism spectrum conditions and associated complex needs. Youll be working within residential, supported living, or day services and assisting residents through a care pathway to help them live as independently as possible.

• Supporting individuals with everyday tasks, including cooking, cleaning, personal care, and attending appointments
• Promoting independence and encouraging life skills development
• Building positive relationships with service users, families, and team members
• Taking part in fun, engaging activities such as walks, games, music sessions, arts & crafts, and more
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and helping people achieve their goals
• Ensuring the safety and dignity of every individual in your care
• Observing, monitoring, and keeping a record of conditions

• At least 6 months of experience working within a social care setting
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to pay for one
• The right to work in the UK
• Ability to work above 24 hours per week
• A drivers licence is essential as it would be an element of supporting residents in the community, such as attending activities or hobbies that they enjoy, so access to your own vehicle
