We are looking for an experienced IBM Planning Analytics (PA) Support Engineer to support budgeting, forecasting, and enterprise performance management systems. The role involves application support, production issue resolution, system administration, upgrades, and close collaboration with project and infrastructure teams to ensure system stability and performance.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with IBM Planning Analytics / TM1, including PAW, rules, feeders, Turbo Integrator processes, and operational support activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport budgeting and forecasting processes using IBM Planning Analytics (PA / TM1)
Understand existing system implementations and business logic quickly
Perform impact analysis and resolve production defects and issues
Manage daily operational activities, including nightly data refresh and monitoring
Troubleshoot and resolve data load failures, errors, and warnings
Perform variance analysis and data validation during monthly and quarterly closes
Ensure proper data archival, restore, and backup procedures are followed
Execute system upgrades and apply patches for IBM PA (on-premise and GCC Cloud environments)
Participate in cutover activities and execute deployment steps for fixes and enhancements
Support deployment activities post-fix and enhancement releases
Work closely with infrastructure and security teams to address environment, access, and system concerns
Support planned deployment or upgrade activities outside normal business hours when required
IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 Fundamentals
Strong understanding of:
Cubes, dimensions, elements, and hierarchies
Rules and feeders
Turbo Integrator (TI) processes
Data types (numeric, string, consolidation)
Hands-on experience with:
PAW (Planning Analytics Workspace)
PAX (Planning Analytics for Excel)
PAfE
TM1 Web
Create and manage cubes, dimensions, hierarchies, and subsets
Define relationships, attributes, and aliases
Write, test, and maintain rules using the PAW rule editor
Build, execute, and debug Turbo Integrator processes
Design and manage efficient feeders
Design intuitive PAW books and sheets
Use widgets, selectors, tabs, and quick reports effectively
Apply best practices for layout, formatting, and usability
Configure and manage object-level security:
Cubes, dimensions, elements, processes, and chores
Implement and maintain cell-level security and application security rules
Backup and recovery of PAW books and system assets
Deployment and upgrade support
Python scripting
Advanced TI and rule debugging
Conditional rules
Feeder optimization and debugging
Minimum 4 years of relevant hands-on experience in IBM Planning Analytics / TM1
Experience supporting production environments is required
Exposure to enterprise-scale financial planning, budgeting, or forecasting systems is preferred
