Research & Development Manager

Duties

• Manage and direct the research and development programs to meet the company’s requirements.
• Responsible for developing and executing new product development, and works with the relevant operations team to bring these products to market.
• Develop research programs incorporating current developments to improve existing products and study the potential of new products.
• Lead key projects with R & D to support business goals.
• Manage and develop concepts, products and solutions by coordinating with relevant business units.
• Hire and train R & D personnel.
• Manage project goals and priorities by collaborating with Sales & Marketing and Operations Teams.
• Research, design, review and evaluate raw materials, processes and equipment.
• Create and develop concepts, products and solutions by working with company business units.
• Ensure that all research and development procedures and steps are documented.
• Develop customer relationships and manage RFP Review, Customers and Product Testing.

• Possess Critical Thinking / Problem Solving skills.
• Excellent Oral/Written Communications. Japanese and English.

• Experienced Research and Development Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the food industry.
• Skilled in Research and Development (R&D), Quality Control, Statistics, and Nutrition.
• Strong research professional with a Master’s degree.
• Fluent in both spoken and written Japanese, as regular communication with Japan, Head office and clients are required.
