Job Description & Requirements

Stamford Social is looking for a motivated and hardworking Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow in a professional all-day dining kitchen while learning strong foundations in preparation, organisation, hygiene, and service. You will support the chefs with mise en place, basic preparation, cleaning, and daily kitchen tasks while building your skills in a structured and fast-paced environment.

This role suits someone with a positive attitude, discipline, and willingness to learn.

• Some kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred, though attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food handling.
• Able to follow instructions carefully and work well in a team.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and eager to develop professionally.
• Able to work weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts as required.

• Support chefs with mise en place, basic food preparation, and daily kitchen tasks.
• Keep work areas clean, organised, and ready for service.
• Follow recipes, instructions, and kitchen procedures carefully.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock properly.
• Support hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards across the kitchen.
• Learn and develop across different sections as guided by senior chefs.
• Contribute positively to a disciplined, team-oriented kitchen culture.
