Overview
Clenergy-EV is a fast-growing business operating at the forefront of the electric vehicle charging industry. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Accounts Assistant to join our finance team and play a key role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly.
The RoleReporting to: Head of Finance
Location: Pencoed, Bridgend (Hybrid working available)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
This is a predominantly transactional role that sits at the heart of our finance function. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial information across a broad range of accounting activities, while working closely with our commercial teams. If you enjoy being hands-on, building strong working relationships across the business, and taking ownership of your work, this role will be a great fit.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable & Credit Control
- Raise sales invoices in a timely and accurate manner
- Manage the credit control process, including proactive chasing of outstanding balances and maintaining aged debtor records
Customer Income reports
- Check and distribute income reports to Charge point owners and respond to queries
Accounts Payable
- Process & post purchase invoices
- Obtain appropriate internal approvals in line with company procedures
- Propose and manage payment runs, ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time
Month End & Year End
- Support the month end and year end close process
- Creating and posting journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and income recognition
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts and control accounts
Bank
- Keep Xero bank feeds updated and accounts reconciled on a daily basis
- Manage company credit cards, including reconciliation, collation of receipts and expense posting
- Manage transactions through online payment platforms, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records
Other Finance Operations
- Identify opportunities for automation, increasing efficiencies, and contributing to process improvements across the finance function
- AAT qualified or actively working towards a higher-level qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar transactional finance role
- Confident and competent user of Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
- Well-organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload
- Proactive in approach — able to anticipate issues and act without being prompted
- Comfortable questioning processes, figures, or approvals where something doesn't look right
- Experience managing online payment platform transactions
- Experience in a high-volume, low-value transaction environment
