SMT Changeover Operator

Available to UKTEC Employees only.

Grade: C2A

Shift: SMT 3 Shift

The successful candidate will work as part of ahighly-skilled and motivated team within the SMT department.

The SMT department is a dynamic and fast-paced working environment,operatingon a shift basis.

Thisroleisresponsibleforensuring lines arechanged overefficiently and accurately in-line with production needs and  times where changeover/changeover preparation is not needed, theteam player will be expected tooperateand run the production line.

• Preparation for changeovers based on schedule
• Liaising with Shift supervisor to ensure that the teamto supportchangeovers are doing so in an efficient manner.
• Reviewing changeovers and feeding back countermeasures/improvements to the relevant departments..
• Liaising withSMTprogramming teamto correct and improve parts data base& maximize line efficiency.
• Reporting of daily loss/gainreasonswithin changeovers to production supervisor
• Assistingtechnicians indeterminingroot cause for any in-process defects
• OperateSMT production lines where the requirement isneeded.

• Knowledge of SMTprocess
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Self motivated and pro-active with the ability to work unsupervised and using your own initiative
• High Levels of concentrationrequiredfor this role
• The ability to work under pressure given theoften rapidchange in targets which are heavily dependent on business needs (daily interruptions can occur due to stock loss, machinebreakdownor quality issues)

• Proficiency in Outlook, Oracle,Exceland Power Point would be beneficial howevertraining would be provided where required.
• A good decision makingability (decision to alter programs to improve quality)
• Basic numeracy skills
