About the Position
Location:
Naval Hospital, Directorate of Behavior Health, Mental Health, Camp Pendleton, CA.
A relocation/recruitment incentive MAY be authorized. Advance In-Hire MAY be authorized. Advance leave Accrual MAY be authorized.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
Duties- Perform evaluation and counseling to improve the ability of clients to become more adaptive and functional in work, home life and social roles.
- Conduct group and individual practical counseling and education for clients with psychological conditions under the direct supervision of a license registered nurse.
- Assist and participate in the planning and evaluation of patents needs and provide a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Perform diagnostic support duties.
- Enter and retrieve data from Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (ALTA), Ancillary Data System (ADS) and other automated systems.
- Coordinate and schedule all category of appointments for patients.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position. All applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required. Heavy lifting up to 30 pounds is required.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons.
- Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
- Required to obtain and maintain appropriate Health Technician certifications.
