Quality Assurance Inspector

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based companies is a plus.

What you’ll do
  • Perform regular audits in-process to ensure processes and products comply with standards.
  • Run required tests such as dimensional, impact, burst, crush, and other pertinent or requested tests.
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated and daily plausibility tests are done and recorded.
  • Keep a record of analysis, test audit results, and other quality documents.
  • Lead quality new hiring training and quality training for production clerks.
  • Support production troubleshooting problems on the lines.
  • Manage sample requests/returns (field returns).
  • Support material trials.
  • Communicate problems to production and QA.
  • Perform application testing following functional requirements.
  • Gather and organize testing metrics, including bug tracking, to support testing activities.
  • Coordinate and perform QA activities for release cycles.
  • Manage and maintain test plans and test cases to achieve objectives.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of QA test environments.
  • Perform incoming inspection.
  • Assist with test automation efforts.
  • Perform QA inspection in the PAD reject.
What you’ll bring
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a quality assurance and manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in precision measuring devices including calipers, micrometers, and custom fixtures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).

Within 3 months you’ll
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore’s strategy.
  • Complete required training.
  • Gain an understanding of your team and the areas you support.
Within 6 months you’ll
  • Gain an understanding of current training materials and procedures your team owns.
  • Work with quality team members to identify short- and long-term process improvement ideas.
  • Identify ways to strengthen the team’s commitment to Atkore’s core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence.
Within 12 months you’ll
  • Create, update, and share inspection documentation as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to address quality issues timely.
  • Lead lean initiatives to drive process improvements.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $20.00/hr
. Placement in the range depends on several factors including competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
