This position is a temporary appointment anticipated to last 6 months, though, may be extended or decreased due to business need. Internal candidates may be considered as a job rotation with their current manager's approval.
About the Job – Your RoleEastern Oregon Correctional Institution has a temporary employment opportunity for a Facility Maintenance Specialist, you will perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance work to support facility buildings, grounds, and equipment. You will complete assigned work orders, assist with daily operations, and ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, functional, and efficient condition.
Your work will span multiple building trades, including carpentry, plumbing support, electrical support, painting, welding, lock repair, and general maintenance. You will also assist with grounds maintenance, material handling, and tool inventory while following all safety, security, and operational procedures. Daily assignments will vary based on facility needs and workload.
This position is unrepresented and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Minimum QualificationsTwo years of: a) general building maintenance; b) carpentry; c) electrical; d) mechanical; e) painting; or f) plastering experience.
