Finance and Officer Coordinator Penicuik Estate Full-time, Office based

Penicuik £30,000 - £34,000 Penicuik Estate is a 7,000-acre family estate in Midlothian where farming, forestry, renewable energy, conservation and hospitality sit side by side. We are looking for a Finance and Office Coordinator to help keep the estate's finances and office in great shape: accurate books, smooth payroll, complete people records and a welcoming office. Reporting to the Financial Controller, with a dotted line to the Owner/Managing Director for HR administration, you will take ownership of the estate's day-to-day finance.

Working across the estate's businesses, you will process invoices and payments, raise sales invoices, reconcile accounts, support payroll administration and help ensure accurate financial records that allow the team to make decisions with confidence. You will also coordinate HR administration, maintain employee records, support recruitment and onboarding, and ensure the estate office runs smoothly. No two days are quite the same, and you will work closely with the senior management team and the estate's external HR adviser.

We are looking for someone who is bright, quick to learn and hard-working, with a degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or another numerate subject, together with some practical bookkeeping or finance experience gained through work, study or a placement. You will have strong numeracy and spreadsheet skills, sound judgement, discretion with confidential information and a full UK driving license.

This is an opportunity to gain broad experience across hospitality, events, cottages, farming, forestry, renewables and property while working closely with the Financial Controller and senior management team. We are keen to support candidates who are studying towards, or wish to pursue, a professional accounting qualification.
