Salary and Hours

Salary: £30,188 – £34,452 (pro‑rated for sessional).

Hours:

36 per week, 39 weeks sessional.

Role Overview

We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner (EYP) to join our enthusiastic and committed early years team as a transitional EYP that covers both Nursery and P.1 and moves up with the children from Nursery to P.1. The role will involve collegiate working between the nursery class and P.1 classes at Davidson's Mains Primary School, and with the other transition EYP who is currently based in P.1. This post will be based in nursery for session 2026‑27 where shift patterns are worked.

Responsibilities
  • Support children’s development from Nursery to P.1.
  • Collaborate with nursery and P.1 classes and transition teams.
  • Implement curriculum and transition plans.
  • Work collegially with colleagues across the school.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience in early years education.
  • Knowledge of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
  • Must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check; if spent 3 months abroad in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check is required.
  • Positive outcome of these pre‑employment checks is mandatory.
