Risk Manager - Quant Modelling & Data

Location: Edinburgh or Perth, with 50% of the working week in the office

Compensation: Basic salary plus performance-related bonus and benefits

Employment: Permanent, full time

We are supporting a major energy business in its search for a Risk Manager to strengthen quantitative modelling and risk data capabilities across a diverse energy portfolio. This is an opportunity to influence decisions spanning renewable generation, thermal assets and energy trading while leading a small team of analysts.

You will develop and enhance quantitative models that translate trading strategies and market exposures into clear risk measures and insights. You will also improve the data pipelines and analytical processes that support timely, reliable risk reporting. Working closely with trading desks, commercial teams and technology colleagues, you will help assess new strategies, bespoke contracts and emerging products. You will present findings to senior stakeholders and risk committees, while supporting the development of your team.

• Experience developing quantitative risk models in energy, commodities or financial markets, with strong knowledge of power and gas markets.
• Advanced Python and data analysis skills, alongside experience with SQL, PySpark or cloud-based data platforms.
• A sound grasp of stochastic modelling, simulation methods and time series analysis.
• Experience working directly with trading or commercial teams.
• The ability to lead analysts and communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
