Service Manager - East Locality and Citywide Social Work Services

Location:

Waverley Court.

Salary: £65,184 - £77,845.

Hours:

36 per week, 52 weeks.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Service Manager to support our East Localities, hospital social work team and review activities. The post-holder will have significant leadership experience and be able to demonstrate the ability to lead services and implement improvement programmes. You must be either a social worker registered with the SSSC or an occupational therapist registered with the Health Care Professions Council with an in-depth understanding of social care services.

As the HSCP prepares itself for the challenges of the future and ensures that it meets its strategic objectives, it is essential that we focus on delivering a safe, effective and responsive social work service. The successful candidate will lead the social work service in supporting safe and timely discharge from hospital settings, alongside localities in the East of the city and our review teams.

As part of the leadership team of the service area, they will play a pivotal role in ensuring that we are able to deliver the ambitions that we have and remain proactive in meeting the future needs of our population.

You will have successfully led the development and implementation of service strategic plans.

You will have a sound understanding of integrated working and current social care, primary care and intermediate care agendas.

You can demonstrate an ability to make complex, contentious decisions and communicate them effectively and sensitively, managing any conflict that may arise.

You will have an ability to identify and provide innovative solutions to a variety of complex and multi‑faceted service and managerial issues.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.

You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
